"Eligible" - Curtis Sittenfeld
Initial Response: Modern Romance (Hilarious)
First Sentence: "Well before his arrival in Cincinnati, everyone knew that Chip Bingley was looking for a wife." - Curtis Sittenfeld
From the Reader: Although I know the plot of Pride & Prejudice well (several readings, movies and the part of Jane in my high school play) this book did nothing but entertain. I found it an excellent combination of flirtatious, humor and charm. Dating is hard, and a modern retelling of P&P perfectly captured why with enough wit and truth to make the story compelling. I have been recommending this to numerous friends as I think we can all relate at some point, and it truly is a feel good book.
Best With: I made myself a simple fresh Martini. However, like the array of characters you could enjoy a similar variety of snacks for this literary feast.
Exclamation: It is much too fun to compare friends and families to these wickedly hilarious characters!
Recommend to: Fellow roommates, sisters, any friend who enjoys a good laugh or is currently in the dating "scene", fans of Pride & Prejudice as well as the romantics
Ideal reading spot: Sunny porch, or busy cafe.
Category: This book needed to be in Pure Sunlight. Its use of whit and humor do nothing but provide you with smiles during the read. You will fall in love with the characters and possibly wish you could have dated them instead.
Finale: Everyone has a different story, path and road to take. Don't judge others based off of what your path is, and with that do not judge yourself base on other's stories.
