"The Shadow of the Wind" - Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Initial Response: Literary Paridise (book lovers will love)
First Sentence: "I still remember the day my father took me to the Cemetery of Forgotten Books for the first time" - Carlos Ruiz Zafon
From the Reader: As a child I so desperately wanted to open a door into Narnia, transport to the another planet or blunder into platform 9 and 3/4, but what book lover didnt!? This book had the same spell on me but with an adult vibe, although I do not wish for hardships, what a lovely story that revolves around a simple choice of book. I get very attached to my books, personally feeling they are part of my story the rest of my life. This book captures that thought with flair, hope, mystery and bloody good storytelling. I was enchanged by this haunting tale and I hope you will be too. - Holland
Best With: A sharp dry wine I found in our cabinet paired with these delightful salty olives. Hopefully they act as an aid to transport you on your literary journey to Barcelona.
Exclamation: "Whoa"........that is my exact reaction upon closing this book.
Recommend to: Serious book lovers who enjoy a good story. I honestly do not think this is for everyone, I think my love for it comes from my love of books considering it was always recommended to me by bookshop owners and workers.
Ideal reading spot: I found this great for a fall ready, it is starting to get cooler out and I found it a breathe of fresh crisp air.
Category: This book is a Chance of Rain. Although I did not tear up, there are serious portions of the story that deserve the respect of the reader.
Finale: Listen to those around you and always cherish, respect and honor those who love you during your best and your utmost worst.
